Weekend at Monk Coniston HF House, Coniston
Three nights, Friday 21st to Monday 24th March 2025
Monk Coniston House dates from 1770's and is leased to HF by the National Trust. There are extensive gardens and an arboretum. All rooms are en-suite, either in the main house or adjoining cottages.
Travel to the house will be by private cars, with lifts arranged as necessary. The weekend starts with afternoon tea on Friday and includes breakfast on the day of departure. Packed lunches are included on Saturday and Sunday and can be purchased if required on Monday.
There will be a walk arranged on the journey there for those who would like to join it, and walks on the Saturday and Sunday, with a walk on Monday if requested. Members are of course, able to come on arranged walks or not as they wish.
Maximum basic price is £275 per person for 3 nights. This is the same rate as 2024, and is valid if deposits are paid by mid May. There should be a discount, depending on numbers booked. Premium rooms are £10 per person per night extra.
At present there are no more single rooms available. If we have 38 or more members booked then we can have the house to ourselves and more single rooms will be available. However there a couple of double rooms which can be used as singles for an additional £15 per night. If we don’t have the house to ourselves there may be others guests or groups in.
There is a deposit required of £50 per person. Cheques, payable to Barrow HF Rambling Club to Stephanie by 7th May. Final payment due at the end of the year – amount will be advised.
