From John Patterson:

"The club managed three group walks on Sunday.

Alan Robinson led a small group of four from Kiln Bank Cross going over Fox Haw, Stephenson Haw, Brunt Fell, and The Knott. It was very windy on the tops but more sheltered between them. The wind dropped after lunch when they made their way to Great Stickle and Stickle Pike. Marian and Alan carried on to do Great Worm Crag.

Six members walked with Pat Pudsey. Due to the forecast of very high winds they did a low level walk from Grizebeck. The distance was 9.25 miles on the GPS and 1,167 ft of ascent. A very pleasant walk on paths they had never done or not been on for many a long year. Kirkby Wood was lovely. Lots of interest with evidence of ancient settlements. They bumped into my group at the bottom of Hum Gill! The winds were strengthening towards the end of the walk. The group were very windswept. Unfortunately the Greyhound does not open until Monday.

I led a group of five from Water Yeat, over past Tottlebank and Giants Grave to Hum Gill in the Woodland Valley, where we met Pat Pudsey's group, then along the lane to Yeat How and back via Beacon Tarn to Water Yeat."
